THE MAD HATTERS TEA PARTY

Preston's Mad Hatters Collective started in the late 90's with some cracking house parties, the outcome of these parties brought together a group of friends with one aim in mind to have a big blow out where all friends can gather and Party On!!!

Invite stipulation: wear a Mad Hat and leave your bad attitudes at home. The sound system supplied by DJ Clumsy & DJ Marra had enough sound, volume and techno to blow away most night clubs!

DJ's played through the night to a hot and steamy sweaty crowd. This extravaganza was repeated again and again with as much indulgence as the last gatherings, This time at our own venue, which we still use.

Friends from the past present and future came to the mother of all parties Halloween. We danced to the tunes in our venue that we still use to this day. Two rooms, and enough uvlicious decor to feast your eye's on and keep your mind busy.

The music a mix fron all the DJ's crossed over from Hard House to Hard floor and Techno. That was 7 years ago, we are still going strong, from festivals to warehouse parties, squat parties, and our own private parties.
We welcome guest dj's and artists at all our parties but our residents know how to give everyone a good time. DJ Clumsy, Marra, and Slice rock the dancefloor.

THE MAD HATTER'S MILLENNIUM BALL

The collective thought that yes people our friends want to party on new years eve but will they want to party with us? So word was sent far and wide to the far reaches of the land. Mad hatters wants to party ARE YOU UP FOR IT?

Invite stipulation: Black Tie Evening Dress and Champagne bring a bottle and fill the bar. The collective them selves had to keep the numbers reasonable or we at least tried, you take for granted that some will want to spend a fortune on big gigs for the big night.

Being the mother of all occasions everyone came in their best rented suits and all girlies wearing glittering party frocks. The booze came in crate loads 100+ ladies and gentlemen tooled up for the party of the century. I say ladies and gentlemen loosely because generally we are not the most fashion conscious of people no offence intended but we did ourselves proud. Every one made the effort all except one and you know who you are Ste.

Again the sound system supplied by DJ Marra Ian and DJ Clumsy Paul was set up in the same way along with the lights, smoke machine and strobes. Backdrops and xmas lights on the stairs, tinsel and mistletoe over the doors our scene is set.

The atmosphere was thick with giggles and laughter as you entered the building the punch bowl in the bar [kitchen] was overflowing with a concoction of fluid with which no questions were to be asked.

The sign said Drink Me [at own risk] the party had definitely started.

Friends from the past present and future came to the mother of all new year parties we danced to the tunes aware 12:00 o'clock was approaching but the people keep arriving the tunes keep on thumping.

I walked down the stairs, smoke and noise seemed to envelope the door way light sound seemed to enhance the ingredients I had already consumed. Ok this feels good our friends looked very very good, am I in the right place. The music stops someone shouts 10 minutes to the next century. Everyone ran grabbing champagne bottles & coats.

We assembled on the colonnade at the front of the building to watch a tv screen in the window. As I watched from across the road waiting to take pictures the view had to be great memory nearly 100 Champagne corks flying, crowd screaming and kisses hugs and all 100+ guests jumping up and down ringing the new year.

The TV started the count down 10 9 8 we got louder and louder 6 5 4 here we go grab your nearest and dearest and hold on for dear life 2 1 Y2k is here!!!!

I have never seen so many bottles of Champers passed around with cheers and laughter and then the fireworks started to fizz and bang. Bottles of champagne emptied along with the taking of all things wonderful we all got pretty trashed fairly quickly.

We all then moved inside to bring the place down with some Thumping Techno and Hard House from the DJ's who came to entertain. Pablo from Wales played an hour of tunes to please the crowd and then Matt from Preston turned the beat to the rhythm of the jungle.

The place is jumping DJ Clumsy's time too turn it up. Bring on the Techno and lets have it neighbouring houses complain did we care? Not a jot we just invited them in with a warning, hell it was a party why not. Clumsy had the floor screaming shouting time to hand over to DJ Marra from Preston who did the job and brought the house down.

The music a mix fron all the DJ's crossed over from Hard House to Hard floor and Techno. This night all the DJ's brought the place down The party went on relentlessly we wanted New years day morning never to appear but appear it did. What the hell Bar still full lets have it. So the party went on and on.
